What soaks into a Singapore sofa
How often to clean it
- 12 months
- for most adult households
- 6 months
- with kids, pets, or anyone with allergies, asthma or eczema
- Leather
- a clean and condition every 6 to 12 months stops it cracking in the aircon
Sweat and body oil
Every evening on the sofa leaves sweat and oil in the seat and the arms. That is what turns a light fabric grey where people sit most.
Kids, pets and dinner in front of the TV
Spills, crumbs, dander and the odd accident sink below the surface, where wiping the top never reaches.
Humidity and dust mites
Singapore's damp air keeps dust mites active in the cushions all year, and it is why an old sofa starts to smell musty.
How we clean a fabric sofa
Six steps, done in your home with our own machines. Leather gets its own treatment, below.
Dry vacuum
A high-suction pass over every cushion, seam and crease lifts crumbs, hair and loose dust before anything gets wet.
Shampoo and soft scrub
A child-safe, pet-safe shampoo is worked in gently to loosen sweat, oil and stains.
Deep extraction
The wand flushes the fabric and sucks the dirty water straight back out, with the grime in it.
Clear-water rinse
A second pass with plain water, so no shampoo is left to make the fabric sticky or attract new dirt.
Dry extraction
A slow pass that pulls out most of the moisture, so the sofa dries the same day.
Hospital-grade sanitiser
A light mist at the end leaves a protective film that may last up to 30 days on low-contact areas.
Leather sofas
Leather is a treated hide, so we never soak it or run the extraction wand over it. It gets a pH-balanced leather cleaner, then a conditioner that puts back the oils aircon dries out.
Before we arrive
- Clear the sofa of throws, toys and loose items. Cushions can stay.
- Move the coffee table so we can reach the front.
- Show us a power point and a water tap nearby.
- Keep pets out of the room while we work.
- Tell us what caused any stain (urine, ink, wine) when you book.
That is for fabric, with a fan or the aircon on after we leave. Leather is wiped, not soaked, so it is ready almost straight away.
“Had a fully clean couch within a single business day of booking an appointment. The amount of dirt they extracted from my couch was quite amazing as well.”

Yes, in most cases. Extraction lifts the soiled fibres and dander, and the clear-water rinse flushes out what is left instead of covering the smell with perfume. Tell us about the accident when you book so we plan enough time.
Most everyday stains lift or fade a lot. Ink or dye that has been sitting for months, and stains that have changed the colour of the fabric, may only lighten. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Leather is a treated hide, so it is never soaked or extraction-cleaned. We clean it with a pH-balanced leather cleaner, then condition it to put back the oils that aircon dries out. Our leather sofa guide covers care between visits.
